Raljarn – Inadequacies of Reality
Raljarn is a new project by a Berlin-based musician who creates raw, dark music inspired by post-metal, math-rock, progressive metal, djent, and extreme metal in general. Citing influences from bands like Ulcerate, The Ocean, and Meshuggah, Raljarn explores existential philosophy through a progressive and extreme sound crafted with analog equipment and live, authentic recordings. I particularly enjoyed the choice of live recordings, the harsh/growling vocals, and the moments touching on the extreme edges, reminiscent of The Ocean at time. Check out Raljarn’s newest three-track EP, Inadequacies of Reality. The groove on the The End of it All is a banger, a great song. More atmopsheric The Depth of it All is dense and The Weight of it All has some really extreme chugging riffs. I’ll be keeping an eye on Raljarn from now on, good stuff.
