From Harm – A Plot to Salvage
We are taking a quick look at From Harm, a hardcore punk band that I believe will resonate deeply with those who are interested in the genre. As a relatively new act, their latest 6-track EP, A Plot to Salvage, serves as a direct successor to their 2024 debut EP, Arcane Pardon.
Seamlessly blending traditional punk rhythms and raw, fiery musicianship with lyrics addressing both personal and social struggles, A Plot to Salvage is a personal journey from oppression to survival—exploring its essential elements: Shelter, sustenance, defense, personhood, community, and recreation. The whole thing runs for about 16 minutes, and you can really feel that live energy due to solid production and performances; especially the drumming is pretty energetic and dynamic.
Tracks like No Safe Haven and Desolate are excellent examples of how the band merges their punk roots with more melodic elements. If you have any interest in the hardcore punk genre with a darker twist, you should definitely give A Plot to Salvage a listen and introduce yourself to From Harm.
