Premiering on Slam Worldwide YouTube channel, this debut EP from Swiss death metal band Conniver is set to captivate listeners with its raw energy and evocative lyrical themes. These 6 tracks present relentless death metal with hints of deathcore and djenty riffs, blending crushing riffs and groovy rhythms with refreshing ambient layers, all surrounded by a wall of drums. The lyrics delve into the torment of inner demons, sci-fi/horror themes and scenarios where human life on Earth is on the brink of collapse, forcing scientists to bend all morals to save the human species.
Eight string guitars mixing with deep growls and blasting drums; this formula always works for me and same scenario applies while listening Conniver. From groovy riffs of Virus to constant pummeling of The Rift, there is no doubt about the talent and aggressive passion of the band but my favorite song is New Breed. Loved the djenty riffs and how they mix horror themes with modern death metal songwriting.
Human Impertinence is the first effort of a newly formed band but Conniver prooves they are a talented bunch and they understand the dynamics of death metal. If no gimmick, no bulshit death metal with with a modern twist sounds cool to you, give these guys a chance.
